RESPITE CARE PENNSYLVANIA

SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE SHORT-TERM FOSTER CARE SERVICES

WHAT IS RESPITE CARE?

When a family experiences a crisis, planned or unplanned, short-term foster care, also known as respite care, can provide a safe haven for children while the family gets back on its feet. Respite care is also an option when a family is going through a particular challenge, such as deployment, illness, or the death of a loved one. At Family Care for Children & Youth (FCCY), we offer respite foster care under our umbrella of foster care services in PA.

WE CAN HELP YOU COORDINATE SHORT-TERM RESPITE FOSTER CARE

Short-term respite foster care can provide an ideal arrangement for children, parents, and caregivers. It can be pre-planned in the event that a child could benefit from a different, but familiar, living situation, but it can also be used in an emergency situation. If you would like to learn more about respite foster care, please contact a member of Family Care for Children & Youth at one of our locations and we will be happy to help.

RESPITE FOSTER CARE PENNSYLVANIA

Family Care for Children and Youth can provide short-term respite foster care in the event that a child needs to periodically stay with a foster family during weekends and holidays or for other short spans of time. This short-term foster care is the ideal arrangement for a child who needs a break from his or her group home, institution, or biological/legal family situation. Respite care guarantees that a child always has a safe, familiar place to stay where he or she has already established productive family relationships. Respite care can also serve as a backup living arrangement in the event that a child needs to relocate.

"THEY CARE ABOUT THE CHILDREN AND ARE VERY THOROUGH"

My husband and I always tell people that talk to us about wanting to foster or adopt about our agency. We enjoy working with this agency because the staff not only care about the careful placement of a child but also about us as a family. Our agency is available and quick to respond to us whether we have an emergency or just a question. They care about the children and are very thorough to ensure the children and the foster family are getting what they need.

"WE ENJOY GIVING BACK"

Fostering is very positive experience not only for ourselves but also for the child’s well-being. We enjoy giving back. Providing a loving, nurturing home to a child gives the child an opportunity to have a normal childhood as possible.

"WE WOULD RECOMMEND FCCY"

Picking FCCY to work with has been the best thing my husband and I could have done. We have had only positive experiences with this agency. The case managers are so good and give you total support as a foster parent. We would recommend FCCY to others looking into foster care.
