FCCY Trainers
The
Family
Care for Children & Youth Training Series
is delivered by experts in the field from both in and outside
the FCCY organization, and most classes can be credited toward
Social Work Continuing Education Units or NBCC (National Board
of Certified Counselors) Continuing Education Units. Sessions
are held in Milton, Pennsylvania.
Lauren Leap, Director of
Foster Care
Lauren holds a master's degree in social work from Marywood
University and is a licensed social worker. She is
also certified in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy and is a
member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Lauren has been in the field of social work since 1976 and
possesses extensive experience in child welfare, medical
social work, and international training. Lauren has
conducted social work training in the Republic of Ireland
and the Philippines, as well as in the United States.

Bill
Shutt, Assistant Executive Director
FCCY’s Assistant Executive Director, Bill Shutt began
his work in the field of foster care in 1988. Bill has a master’s
degree in Social Work, is certified in CT/RT, and possesses
extensive training experience in a variety of topics
including Independent Living and Grief & Loss Issues for
Children.

LeeAnn Thomas,
Regional Director
LeeAnn holds a master's degree in social work. She has several years experience working with
children and adolescents utilizing Choice Theory/Reality Theory.
LeeAnn has conducted many staff & foster parent trainings for
FCCY.

Tandynn Benware, Regional Director
Tandynn has worked in the social work field since 1995.
She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and is pursuing a
master's degree in social work. She has extensive
experience working with children and adolescents displaying
symptoms of emotional disturbances. She is certified in
Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, and has extensive training
experience.

Deborah McAllister, Regional Director
Deb holds a master's degree in social work and will be
pursuing a master's degree in social work. She has
experience working with children and adolescents and is
certified in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy. Deb has
extensive training experience in a variety of topics.

Kim Olver
Kim Olver started working in the field of mental health in
1982 and expanded into the field of child welfare in 1987.
Kim has a master’s degree in Counseling and is a Certified
Reality Therapist, a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Licensed
Professional Counselor, a Competency-Based Trainer, and an
adjunct professor at the University of Scranton. Kim teaches
the following FCCY

Management; Identifying & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect;
Choice Theory/Reality Therapy; Cultural Awareness; HIPAA,
Confidentiality/HIPPA; RT & MH Disorders; Effective Communication;
Managing Anger; Values Clarification; Effective Discipline;
Reality Therapy Basic Week; and Teamwork.
Sylvester
Baugh
Sylvester Baugh began working in the field of training in
1981 and started work as a counselor in 1982. His areas of
focus include child welfare and schools, and he has consulted
with United Airlines in the areas of diversity and life skills.
Sylvester has over 10 years of counseling experience. He holds
a degree in Communications and is a Basic Week Instructor
for the William Glasser Institute. Sylvester teaches Cultural
Awareness as part of our
Milton
training sessions.
Nancy S. Buck, Ph.D.,
Nancy Buck
is a senior faculty member of The William Glasser Institute as
well as adjunct faculty at Salve Regina University. She has
worked with Dr.Glasser for over 20 years and has trained
professionals in these ideas throughout the world. Dr. Buck is
recognized and highly respected as a trainer and facilitator.
Her genuine, warm and authentic teaching style is clear and
concise, helping learners to move from the theoretical to
practical applications.
